South Green Dr. Closure August 17-18, 2026

The City of Athens announces effective Monday, August 17, 2026, South Green Dr. at Richland Ave. will be closed to support paving and painting work for the ongoing Athens City Sewer Improvement project. This is expected to be a 2 day closure with the roadway closed through the end of business day on Tuesday, August 18, 2026. Roadway Impacts

• A full road closure will be in place on South Green Dr. at the intersection with Richland Ave. There will be no emergency or thru traffic during this time. Detour traffic should access the area using Bobcat Lane and Oxbow Trail. 

Parking Impacts

• There will be no impacts to parking during this time.

Transit Impacts

• There will be no impacts to Ohio University transportation services.
