Richland Ave Closure August 11- September 10, 2026

The City of Athens announces effective Monday, August 10, 2026, Richland Ave at Dairy Ln will be closed to support the ongoing Athens City Sewer Improvement project. This is expected to be 5 week closure with the roadway closed through the end of business day on Thursday, September 10, 2026. Roadway Impacts

• A full road closure will be in place on Richland Avenue at the intersection with Dairy Lane. There will be no emergency or thru traffic during this time. Detour traffic should access the area using the following exits:
  • Approaching campus from US32 Eastbound, use Exit  199B for Richland Ave and keep right.
  • Approaching campus from US33 Eastbound, use Exit  170 for 33 East, Pomeroy Richland Ave and keep left.
  • Approaching campus from US 33 Westbound, use Exit 199B for Richland Ave and keep right.

Parking Impacts

• There will be no impacts to parking during this time.

Transit Impacts

• There will be no impacts to Ohio University transportation services.
