Parking Lot and Road Closures: Ohio vs. Jax State Football Game

Parking Lot & Road Closures: Ohio vs. Jax State Football Game Effective 9:00 PM Friday, September 11- Saturday, September 12, 2026

To support needs for the Ohio/Jax State football game, several parking lot closures will be in effect. Vehicles parked in restricted areas without proper authorization will be ticketed and relocated at the owner's expense. No exceptions will be granted. 

These measures are necessary to ensure adequate space for event permit holders and band day parking needs. Please review the information below carefully and share with any staff, students, or visitors who may be impacted. 

Parking Lot Closures

Friday, September 11 at 9:00 PM

  • Lots 90 (Morton Hall) & 104 (Jefferson Hall)
    • Closed to all vehicles except those authorized below.
    • Vehicles not authorized will be ticketed and relocated at owner/operator's expense.
    • Lots will remain closed through Saturday, September 12th
    • Lots will re-open for student & faculty/staff parking on Sunday, September 13th.
  • Authorized Vehicles:
    • None, all vehicles will be relocated. 

Friday, September 11 at 11:00 PM

  • Lots 132 (Peden Stadium) & 134 (Walter Hall)
    • Closed to all vehicles except those authorized below.
    • Vehicles not authorized will be ticketed and relocated at owner/operator's expense.
    • Lot will remain closed through 7AM Saturday, September 12th
    • Beginning at 7AM, Saturday, September 12th lots will convert to Green Lot Parking, Orange Lot Parking, and ADA parking only. Lots will re-open for faculty & staff and student parking on Sunday, September 13th.

  • Authorized Vehicles:

    • Ohio University state-licensed vehicles
    • Vehicles displaying an overnight parking permit issued by Transportation & Parking Services for September 11-12, 2026. 

     

  • Lots 127, 128, 111 (Convocation Center area)
    • Closed to all vehicles except those authorized below.
    • Vehicles not authorized will be subject to violation.
    • Lots will remain closed through Saturday, September 12th.
    • Beginning at 10AM, Saturday, September 12th lots 127, 128, 111, & 112 will convert to Blue Lot parking only & Lot 129 to Gold Lot & ADA parking only. Lots will re-open for faculty & staff and student parking on Sunday, September 13th. 

  • Authorized Vehicles: 

    • Ohio University state-licensed vehicles
    • Lot 127 student residential overnight permit holders.
    • Vehicles displaying an overnight parking permit issued by Transportation & Parking Services for September 11-12, 2026.

Road Closures

Saturday, September 12 at 10:00 AM through end of day

  • A section of South Green Drive (between Richland Avenue and Oxbow Trail) will be closed. 
  • Detour routes: Oxbow Trail and Bobcat Lane.

Faculty/Staff Parking Alternatives

We recognize the need to maintain access for faculty, staff, and campus operations during this busy period. Alternative parking areas (see map) will be available to support employees during the closure. 

  • If arriving on Saturday, September 12th after 10:00 AM, please inform the parking attendant you are on campus for work (this applies only to employees working the event day, not attending the game). 
  • Access will be granted as space permits.
  • Expect heavy traffic and parking demand- please plan ahead and allow extra time to park.
