Harris Student Support Center Advising
Advising is a partnership between you and your success advisor. Together, you will work to create educational plans to meet your academic, career and personal goals. You are responsible for being prepared for and participating in advising sessions, as well as understanding University and program requirements.
Our team provides holistic one-on-one advising and builds relationships with students that foster academic success. We also offer intensive support for at-risk students and students on academic probation.
Why Meet With an Advisor?
By participating in academic advising, you will gain:
- Informed guidance that will assist you as you make decisions about your academic goals.
- An understanding of campus resources and academic programs.
- Skills such as reading your DARS, using the Online Undergraduate Catalog, and using the online tools available to you for degree planning.
- An understanding of opportunities available to you that will enhance your academic experience—internships, campus involvement opportunities, etc.
