Careers & Internships for Undergraduate Students
Students in the Scripps College of Communication get hands-on experience through student organizations and publications, on-campus jobs and internships. Through these experiences students not only improve their communication skills, but they also gain other skills that are helpful in securing full-time employment, such as problem solving, teamwork and leadership.

Internship Report Form
The Scripps College of Communication encourages all students in the college to complete and report internships.
Students in the E.W. School of Journalism and the School of Visual Communication are required to complete an internship and report them through the internship report form.
You must complete the form in its entirety, complete with your supervisor's name and email. If you have questions or concerns, please reach out to Director of Student Development Erin Roberts.
Important Note for Journalism & Visual Communication Students
Your internship evaluation form is used to verify that you have completed your internships. After you have completed the internship report form, here's what you can expect:
- Your internship supervisor will receive an email from Ohio University Scripps College of Communication with an internship evaluation link and password that allows them to complete and return your internship evaluation.
- After your internship supervisor completes your evaluation form, it will be sent to you academic advisor for approval.
- After your academic advisor approves your internship evaluation form, your DARS will be updated to reflect you have completed your internship requirement for your degree.

Press Assistant, Dr. Amy Acton campaign for Governor of Ohio
- Assist the Communications Director with internal communications operations, including tracking press requests and monitoring news coverage
- Build and maintain local, national, and constituency press lists
- Help draft press releases, media advisories, talking points, and other external communications
- Assist with other communications duties as needed
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and prioritize projects while working on a deadline
- Desire and ability to work long campaign hours, including evenings, weekends, and irregular hours
- Campaign or political experience is preferred
