Major Requirements for Scripps College of Communication Undergraduate Students
All Scripps College of Communication undergraduate programs require students to complete specific requirements to earn a degree. As a student within the College, you are assigned to a Success Advisor, who can assist you in preparing your graduation plan and setting and achieving goals to help you keep on track.

DARS Report
DARS is an acronym for the Degree Audit Reporting System. DARS analyzes degree requirements for a major, minor, or certificate according to the catalog year in which you entered the program.
You can access your DARS online, or visit the University Registrar's website to learn more about the DARS report, including directions for accessing or reporting issues with the system.
Overview of Requirements
As a degree-seeking student within the Scripps College of Communication you must complete general education requirements that have been established by Ohio University as well as the requirements established by the program in which you are enrolled.
University-Wide Graduation Requirements
University-wide Graduation Requirements are requirements that all students at Ohio University must complete for the conferral of a bachelor's degree. University-wide graduation requirements include:
- Complete a minimum of 120 semester hours with a 2.0 accumulative grade point average (GPA) and a 2.0 GPA in your major.
- All bachelor's degree students (except Honors Tutorial College students) must complete Ohio University's OHIO BRICKS (General Education) requirements. Many general education courses meet both the University requirements and program-specific requirements.
