Scripps College of Communication Professional Headshot Booth

Need a headshot to help you prepare for internships or a new job? The professional headshot booth, courtesy of the Scripps College of Communication, offers free, polished-looking headshots. 

You don't need to be a photography major or have photography experience to use the professional headshot booth — it will guide you through the process of capturing three headshots that are sure to make your LinkedIn or application stand out from the crowd.

Free for All To Use

The professional headshot booth is free and available to anyone. No appointment is necessary, and the booth is available at all times when Schoonover is open.

There are no requirements for use other than a valid email address, which is how you'll receive your final photos.

If you're looking for studio professional headshots, University Communications and Marketing offers complimentary professional studio portraits for University faculty and staff.

How To Use the Headshot Booth

Get Started Make yourself at home.

Have a seat and make yourself comfortable. You only need an email address to use the headshot booth. 

Take a few deep breaths, practice your smile and some poses to help you get ready. Use the touch screen display to start your session, and enter your email address when you are prompted.

Strike a Pose Or maybe even three.

The headshot booth will capture three photos. You can try different poses and angles and try all of your smiles to help you find your best shot.

After capturing your images, the touch screen will offer editing options to help you polish your image before receiving it.

Share & Enjoy Use your photos as you wish.

You will receive an email from Iris Booth with your three headshots with a prompt to download your photos. After clicking the link, you'll be directed to the Iris Booth website and prompted to enter your email address and create a password. Then, you can download and enjoy your photos!

 

Tips To Help You Put Your Best Face Forward

  • Wear clothing that helps you feel your best, whether that means keeping it simple or wearing your most funky, fresh 'fit.
  • Look at the camera and think about something that makes you feel happy to help make your facial expression more genuine.
  • Try different poses and angles with your shoulders, chin and head.
  • If you wear glasses, try tilting your chin down slightly and turn your head slightly away from center to reduce light reflections while keeping your eyes visible.
  • Try smiling different ways.
