Check Your Milestone Progress
Students can select Milestone Progress from the home screen to view all completed and remaining milestones.
NOTE: Milestones that were completed before the go-live date (Jan 1 2026) may not appear as completed in the system as these are stored directly in PeopleSoft and not the Tracking App. Students are directed to contact their college if verification of milestones is needed.
Features of the Progress Tracking Page
- Each milestone is displayed in a card layout with mandatory milestones (*) clearly labeled.
- A legend at the top of the page helps student understand progress at a glance:
- A checkmark in a dark green card indicates the milestone is complete (meaning submitted and all approvals completed). Completion dates appear below each completed milestone.
- A blank/outlined card indicates the milestone is not yet completed (this could indicate it is submitted and awaiting approvals or that it is not yet submitted).
Examples of What Students See
- Milestones 1 – 5 & 8
- Completed Date shown if milestone is complete
- Milestone 6 – Selection of Dissertation Committee
- Completed Date shown if milestone is complete
- Additionally, a “See My Committee” button allows students to review their committee anytime.
- Completed Date shown if milestone is complete
- Milestone 7 & 9 – Proposal Defense & Dissertation Oral Defense
- These Milestones show two stacked cards.
- If both the scheduling is complete and approved AND the proposal/dissertation itself is approved, both cards will be dark green and the date all approvals were completed will show under the bottom card (See MS7 card as an example).
- If both the scheduling is complete and approved BUT the proposal/dissertation itself is not yet approved (because the meeting has not happened or because faculty have not yet completed approvals)
- The top card will be dark green with a check to indicate the meeting is scheduled AND the date of the defense meeting will display under the bottom card
- The bottom card will remain blank/outlined until all the approvals of the dissertation/proposal itself are submitted.
