Dear Bobcat:

The State of Ohio’s Credit When It’s Due program helps students who began at a community college, earned credits, and later transferred to a four-year institution without completing an associate degree.

Our records indicate that you attended an Ohio community college and successfully earned credits toward an associate degree. Combined with your coursework at Ohio University, you may be very close to completing an associate degree—either from your former community college or from Ohio University.

If you would like to be considered for an associate degree from your community college or from Ohio University, you must complete the CWID Request form.  You may submit the form for only one institution. The form will authorize Ohio University to release your transcript for evaluation. We will send your transcript at no cost, provided you have no outstanding financial obligations. If your community college or Ohio University determines that you have met the requirements for an associate degree, they will contact you directly. This could be a great achievement for you!

To authorize the review and/or release of your records, or to indicate you are not interested and do not wish to be contacted again, please go to https://www.ohio.edu/registrar/cwid-request.cfm. You will log in with your OHIO ID and password to access the site. Please visit the web site and respond by Tuesday February 10, 2026.

For responses to frequently asked questions about this process, you may visit Credit When It's Due. If you have additional questions, you may contact cwid@ohio.edu or 740.593.4199.
