Equipment Rentals
Get the quality, brand-name gear you need for adventures from our rental center! Our massive inventory of outdoor equipment includes everything from backpacks, tents, and sleeping bags to canoes and crash pads. Plus, we'll teach you how to use any items you rent so you feel confident whether you're camping, climbing, or cruising down the river.
To rent our equipment, please come to the climbing wall desk during open hours. Can't make it during open hours? No problem, fill out the Gear Rental Request Form and Outdoor Pursuits staff will gather your equipment for you. Online rental requests must be made at least 24 hours in advance of the rental to give staff time to gather and assign equipment. For additional assistance or other inquiries email outdoorpursuits@ohio.edu.
Summer rentals by appointment. Please reach out to outdoorpursuits@ohio.edu to reserve your gear and schedule a time for pickup!

Mountain Biking
Quality mountain bikes, now available through our partnership with the Outdoor Recreation Council of Appalachia (ORCA) — open to students, community members, and visitors.
Ride around campus, along the Hocking Adena Bikeway, through Strouds Run and Lake Hope State Parks, or on the Bailey's Trail System (closed to bikes in winter).
See pricing below. One tip: the daily rate covers overnight too — a Saturday rental can come back Sunday at no extra cost.
No bike rack? Skip the trip back to campus — pick up a rental right in Chauncey and ride straight to the trailhead, less than a mile away.

*In order to receive the student & community member pricing, students must present a valid student ID and community members must provide proof of address. Community members constitutes residents of Athens, Morgan, Washington, Meigs, Vinton, Hocking, and Perry counties. Proof of address can include a driver's license, license plate, insurance card, voter registration card, utility bill, or other item listing the customers name and address.
