External Development Resources

Faculty development at Ohio University is intended to support our exceptional faculty in their roles as engaged teachers, scholars, researchers, creative artists and service providers throughout their academic career. The following resources have been collected for OHIO faculty through regional and national organizations.

NCFDD 

The NCFDD is a nationally recognized, independent organization that provides online career development and mentoring resources for faculty, post-docs and graduate students. OHIO faculty, staff and students are invited to activate their individual NCFDD membership to explore a variety of expert guest webinars, programs and on-demand resources.

Strategic Ohio Council for Higher Education 

Formed in 1967, the Strategic Ohio Council for Higher Education (SOCHE) is a consortium of colleges and universities in Ohio that promotes educated, employed, and engaged citizens. OHIO faculty, staff and students are invited to activate their individual SOCHE membership to explore SOCHE’s digital library for faculty and staff. SOCHE also offers a virtual and in-person events.

The Higher Education Resource Services (HERS) Leadership Development Program

The HERS Leadership Institute is a transformational leadership development program for higher education professionals. Since 1972, the Institute has filled leadership pipelines across the United States with dynamic leaders — capable of ushering their institutions into a more inclusive and equitable future.
