Global Leadership Certificate

The Global Leadership Certificate is a two-year undergraduate certificate offered through Ohio University's Global Leadership Center. The program prepares students to think critically and creatively, communicate clearly and logically, be flexible and non-dogmatic, embrace ambiguity and complexity, and understand the world's challenging commercial, political, religious, and cultural issues. Graduates of the Global Leadership Certificate are lifelong learners, prepared to serve as internationally-minded, skilled, attuned, professional and experienced leaders in all walks of life (commercial, governmental and nongovernmental, educational, etc.).

The certificate is a curricular and co-curricular program, which is designed to enhance and provide training and key competencies of global leadership. Through experiential learning approaches, the problem-based program prepares students to function in the global environment, regardless of field of specialty. GLC's values are rooted in the development of leadership through professional and cultural experiences, where students learn first-hand the skills and traits necessary to navigate any obstacles or challenges with which they are confronted.

Eligibility and Required Coursework

Global Leadership Certificate courses are non-traditional. Students work on team-based projects focused on real-world problems and issues. Our approach challenges students to acquire the knowledge and skills they need to flourish in a rapidly changing world.

Admission to the Global Leadership Center is competitive and cannot be guaranteed to all students meeting the admission criteria. Admission will be considered on a rolling basis beginning in the fall semester. Qualified students may also be placed on a wait list pending openings.
