Advising Resources

To make the most out of your advising session, we recommend students come to their advising session with classes in mind. Students can take four steps to prepare:

  • Start by checking your enrollment appointment to see when you may begin registering for classes. Be sure to schedule your advising session before the enrollment period begins.
  • Next, review your DARS and consider what requirements you still need to fill.
  • You should also browse the course offerings to see what classes look interesting. Most students will enroll in three to five classes, but you may want to brainstorm a list of eight to 10 classes to discuss with your advisor.
  • Finally, you should begin thinking about how you will meet the study away requirements. Academic advising is a great time to ask questions about study away.

For guidance on how to find your DARS, register for classes, and more, please consult the University's Registrar's How to & FAQ.
