Building Bobcats Community Learning Program

The Building Bobcats: New-to-OU Community Learning Program is a cohort-based, faculty-led program to help faculty newer to OHIO build relationships across the university and throughout the community.

The program is designed to provide participants with community-focused networking and learning opportunities. Specifically, program participants will be introduced to unique aspects of Ohio University, the Athens community, and Appalachian Ohio by actively exploring the Ohio University campus and surrounding community. At the same time, they will expand and strengthen their network across campus.

Structure

The program will be hosted in person on the Athens campus of Ohio University. Participants will gather in-person in Alden Library, Room 319 on select Tuesdays from 1:00-2:20 PM during the fall semester for experiences and discussions. Program dates are Sept. 8 & 22, Oct. 6, 20, & 27, Nov. 3, 10 & 17, and Dec. 1.

Meeting topics include Ohio University, the Athens campus, the Athens community, and Appalachian Ohio. Meetings will include guest speakers who share their stories and experiences, along with meaningful discussion and engagement.

This year’s program is organized and facilitated by OHIO faculty members Rebecca Dingus and Kristin Hepworth.
