About Our Program
With a strong interdisciplinary curriculum, a focus on development and social justice, and study abroad opportunities, our MA program offers students a deeper and critical understanding of Latin America and supports them as they pursue a specialization in economic and public policy research, international education, public health, security and international relations, social and environmental justice, sustainable growth, women and gender issues, and cultural studies.
Our faculty’s research and extensive experience in the region support a rich intellectual and professionalizing environment that challenges and nurtures students as they pursue their own questions about Latin America and their career goals. Our annual speaker series and spring lecture series bring Latin American scholars, activists, and development practitioners to campus and put students in contact with some of the most influential people in the field. Through sponsored travel grants, students have the financial assistance they require to complete a study abroad program or research trip to a Latin American country.
A limited number of financial aid opportunities are available. Applicants interested in being considered for full financial aid should apply by Jan. 1.
