Discover your voice at Ohio University’s Voice Day on November 14, 2025. Spend the day learning from expert faculty, connecting with current students, and experiencing the vibrant community of our School of Music—capped off with complimentary tickets to the Opera Theater’s performance of Carousel.

Voice Day Agenda – November 14, 2025

8:30–9:00 a.m. – Check-in & Registration
Location: Glidden Hall Lobby
Guests will be welcomed by our staff and receive event materials, including a printed agenda, and voice day swag bag.


9:00–9:20 a.m. – Welcome & Introductions
Kick off the day with a warm welcome from faculty and staff, including an overview of the day's activities and introductions to key members of the voice and choral departments.


9:30–10:20 a.m. – Vocal Wellness Program Presentation
Learn about vocal health and maintenance from our expert faculty. This session will cover best practices for sustainable singing, injury prevention, and wellness resources available to students at OHIO.


10:30–11:45 a.m. – Mini Voice Lessons & Choral Workshops
Students will participate in brief, personalized voice lessons with faculty and engage in interactive choral workshops designed to showcase ensemble techniques and vocal blending.


11:50 a.m.–12:45 p.m. – Choral Side-by-Side Sessions
Experience singing alongside current Ohio University choral students in a collaborative rehearsal setting. This immersive session highlights the community and artistry of our choral program.


1:00–2:00 p.m. – Lunch at Nelson Dining Hall
Enjoy a complimentary lunch at an Ohio University Dining Hall and connect with current students and faculty in a relaxed, informal setting.


2:00–3:00 p.m. – Presentation: College of Fine Arts, School of Music Opportunities & Student Experiences
Led by the Senior Assistant Director of Recruitment for the Chaddock + Morrow College of Fine Arts and our College of Fine Arts Student Ambassadors, this session will explore academic offerings, performance opportunities, student life, and career pathways within the School of Music.


3:05–4:00 p.m. – Studio Class & Performance Experience Opportunities
Observe a live studio class featuring current students and learn about the performance opportunities available to voice majors, including recitals, masterclasses, and opera productions.


4:00–4:30 p.m. – Voice Day Closing Remarks
Wrap up the day with reflections, next steps, and exciting details about the complimentary post-event performance of Carousel.


8:00 p.m. – Complimentary Performance: Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Carousel
As part of Voice Day, each student and their guests will receive complimentary tickets to the opening night performance of Carousel, presented by the Ohio University Opera Theater in collaboration with the University Symphony Orchestra. The performance will begin at 8:00 p.m. in the Templeton-Blackburn Alumni Memorial Auditorium.
