Ohio University offers a plethora of employee well-being resources both virtually and in-person. For a robust view of these offerings, check out the Employee Well-being Website. For a quick overview of these offerings, keep on reading...

WellWorks and Healthy OHIO Offerings: 

WellWorks: 

  • WellWorks is an employee wellness center that is also open to the community. A variety of offerings are available.
  • Non-member services (fee-based):
  • Fitness Membership:
    • WellWorks memberships give you access to the fitness center, unlimited group fitness classes, personal training (at an additional fee), and discounts on specialty programs.

Employee Well-being Resources for Benefits-Participating Employees/Spouses/Partners: 

  • Mobile Well-being with Personify (formerly called Virgin Pulse)Earn up to $200 annually! This is a mobile well-being platform, so can be done online or via an app on your smartphone. From anywhere! For benefits-participating employees/spouses/partners.
  • Biometric Health Screenings Earn $60 annually! Participants can choose to utilize their own physician, making it accessible regardless of work location. Or, they can attend any of our campus events (regardless of their campus of affiliation) or WorkHealth Appointments (Athens). For benefits-participating employees/spouses/partners.

Employee Well-being Resources for Benefits-Eligible Employees/Spouses/Partners: 

  • WellWorks 100 Day – Eligible WellWorks members who check-in 100 days within the University's fiscal year can get $100 off next year's membership! One check-in per day. Members can check-in at Grover Center (Athens) to the Fitness Center or Group Fitness Classes! For benefits-eligible employees/spouses/partners.

Employee Well-being Resources for all Employees/Spouses/Partners: 

  • Wellness Champions – Our Wellness Champion program is facilitated entirely online and representatives from all campuses and work types (remote, in-person, hybrid) are invited to participate.
  • Wellness Presentations – We offer presentations at staff meetings, virtually or in-person.
  • Well-being Newsletters - We offer monthly well-being newsletters to all employees and a quarterly newsletter to all managers. If you aren't currently receiving our newsletters, we encourage you to Manage your Subscriptions and add wellworks@ohio.edu to your safe sender list.
  • Needs and Interest Surveying - Annually, we survey our employees and their spouses/partners to identify their current needs and interests surrounding well-being. We adjust program offerings in direct response to survey results. When surveys are open, they are announced in OHIO News and via email from wellworks@ohio.edu

Additional Employee Well-being Resources not Managed by WellWorks or Healthy OHIO: 

  • Employee Assistance Program – HR’s EAP is a web-based service so is available electronically! New users can use company code “ohiou” to create a new account.
  • Discount Marketplace – Use the Discount Marketplace through the EAP to gain access to exclusive discounts to a variety of common purchases such as hotel stays, movie tickets, home decor, appliances, vehicles, groceries, flowers, apparel, technology, and more. New users can use company code “ohiou” to create a new account.
  • Diabetes Prevention Program - The Diabetes Institute offers diabetes education and prevention classes in a combination of virtual and in-person group settings.
  • Health Navigator – Individuals seeking support as they navigate their own or a family member’s medical diagnosis can utilize this service online and over the phone.
  • Online Telehealth – On University medical benefits? Get medical care from anywhere!
  • University Employee Discounts – Enjoy discounts on cell phone service, parking, paint and computers with employee-exclusive discounts from University partners.
  • Professional Development Pathways - Professional Development Pathways provides tools, guidance, and learning opportunities for employees and supervisors who want to invest in talent development and career growth. Many of these learning opportunities are offered electronically.
