Offering interdisciplinary film programming to students and community members, organizers of the Sustainability Film Series – Loraine McCosker, Alex Kamody and lorraine wochna – partnered with Donal Skinner and Mary Nally to support the on-campus educational forum that helps connect classroom instruction to real-life environmental issues. The film series exposes students, faculty, staff and community members to a variety of local, national and global environmental issues, and the accompanying panel discussions – which regularly feature scientists, non-profit representatives, and other experts – engage and educate audience members on how they too can make a difference. Many of the screened documentary films are now added to the Libraries’ film collection for future classroom viewing and discussion.

“This film series creates opportunities for all of us to understand how the environment and sustainability issues directly relate to whatever our discipline is, whatever our career is. It's relevant to each and every one of us. I think that's why it continues to be so important; why I enjoy getting to participate and to watch the films; and… [why I] partner with my colleagues in continuing the series.” – Mary Nally
