The Hannah V. McCauley Library has four study rooms available for use by students, faculty, and staff. Three study rooms come equipped with wall-mounted monitors, desktop computers, and whiteboards. They are the perfect space for working on group projects, quiet study space, and meetings. The fourth study room is more private and includes a desktop computer and a whiteboard; this room is often used by students who need to concentrate during an online class or who need privacy for online meetings with professors.
Children's Literature
The Hannah V. McCauley Library is proud to house over 9,000 items in our children's literature collection where patrons can find books for children ages 0-16. The collection also includes over 300 large-format books, which are perfect for reading in front of kids in a classroom setting. Patrons need to be on the Lancaster Campus to check out the big books. It's the perfect excuse to invite students from online classes to meet up in Lancaster!

Special Collections
Goslin Collection: A limited collection of material used by Charles Goslin, a Lancaster naturalist whose writing was a regular feature in newspapers in Fairfield County. Donated material is also found in the library's collection.
Student Newspapers: Incomplete runs of a variety of student newspapers and newsletters from the late 1960s to the mid-1980s.
Founded in 1985 by Hannah V. McCauley, the first library director of the library on the Lancaster Campus, the Friends of the Hannah V. McCauley Library at Ohio University Lancaster provides support to the Lancaster Campus library for initiatives that strengthen the library, including but not limited to enhancing collections, community engagement, promotion, and student support.
Projects funded by donations include:
- Purchasing scholastic material requested by faculty
- Hosting informative programs twice a year that increase opportunities for cultural enrichment on campus; these programs are open to the public
- Supporting students with scholarships
