Regardless of your location, University Libraries is still remotely delivering services and resources.  All students, especially with the impact of Covid-19, are encouraged to use the Libraries’ convenient robust online help services. Here you can get help with all your information needs such as finding resources, browsing the subject & course guides and scheduling an appointment with your subject librarian to meet online.

Need more help? Contact the Libraries’ staff via phone (740.593.2699), text (740.370.1009) or live chat—whenever Alden Library is open to the Ohio University community.

“We are here for you, and we can support you in your coursework while in quarantined housing,” said Neil Romanosky, dean of University Libraries. “You do not need to physically come to the Libraries to get help. The Libraries’ thousands of electronic collections are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week for all our OHIO students, faculty and staff. ”

OHIO Libraries has an enormous collection of full text electronic journals, eBooks and streaming videos.  Just ask us if you need help in locating any electronic information. Be sure to check out this quick video about how to find ebooks in the ALICE Catalog.

  • If you need a book chapter or article that is only in print or microform, the Libraries’ Interlibrary Loan and Document Express service will scan and deliver an electronic copy to you, or will request a scan from another library, and then email you when the PDFs are ready.
  • Items requested for self-pickup are now available for 16 days after they arrive for pickup to accommodate students, staff and faculty who are unable to come to Alden because of isolation or quarantine requirements.

As we move closer toward the last days of fall semester, be sure to reach out to your subject librarian, who is here to support your information needs, to schedule a consultation about research papers, projects and presentations.
