The “OHIO’s Place” poster exhibit is presented on banners winding down the main stairwell between the third and fourth floors of Alden Library beginning Monday, Oct. 16 and extends throughout most of fall semester. Smaller versions of the “OHIO’s Place” exhibit will also be displayed at each of the regional campus libraries, including Lancaster, Eastern, Southern, Chillicothe and Zanesville.

As the University enters another chapter in its proud history, librarians, staff and archivists from University Libraries are looking to sharing glimpses of historic special collections to kick off the inauguration of OHIO’s first woman president.

Miriam Nelson, interim assistant dean for collections & digitization strategies, mentioned in an email that University Libraries plays a part in documenting many aspects of the history of OHIO and Southeast Ohio. The exhibits reflect that part by showcasing the University’s ties with its regional place and highlights a new historic moment for OHIO’s presidency.

“The exhibit celebrates OHIO’s core relationship to Appalachia and the inauguration of our first woman president,” Nelson wrote.

Please join us Monday, Oct. 16 at 1 p.m. on the fifth floor of Alden Library for a reception followed by the viewing of displays highlighting OHIO and Southeastern Ohio’s history in honor of the inauguration of President Lori Stewart Gonzalez.
