These structured writing sessions provide dedicated, timed writing alongside your DWSP peers. Our virtual group follows this consistent and supportive rhythm:
- 1:00–1:20 PM — Check-In / Writing Meditation
- 1:20–2:00 PM — Pre-Writing / Setting Up for Success
- 2:00–3:00 PM — Quiet Writing
- 3:00–3:10 PM — Break
- 3:10–3:40 PM — Quiet Writing
3:40–4:00 PM — Closing / Gratitude Practice
Part II: Writing into the Late Nights/International-Friendly Sessions

Writing Spaces
Learning Lab 251 @ Alden Library
Alden Learning Lab 251 is reserved* every Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. during Fall 2026 (8/22-12/5) for quiet, individual writing. The room remains locked, but writers may request access at the library front desk.
This space gives students a reliable, distraction free writing environment outside of scheduled DWSP sessions.
*Reservation is also available from 12noon to 6:00p.m. on Saturday, August 15th. Alden opens at noon on Saturday during the summer.
Events and Workshops
DWSP hosts targeted writing workshops, retreats, and skill building sessions throughout the year in collaboration with Graduate College partners. Events may include:
- Writing strategy workshops
- Research and citation sessions
- Library tool tutorials (e.g., Zotero)
- Accountability retreats
- Cross campus writing days
- Productivity and project management sessions
