Because the School of Music considers artistic talent in the review process, students must audition for consideration to the program. Please note that the audition for admission also serves as the audition for talent-based scholarships.

Students wishing to pursue graduate studies may choose from seven performance divisions, each with its own requirements and audition process.

Financial Aid and Scholarships
All Students who complete their application to Ohio University by the deadline will automatically be considered for any scholarships and/or financial aid for which they are eligible.

Music Audition Tips
While we prefer students take an in-person audition, we are happy to accommodate virtual or video auditions for those for whom travel and/or other extenuating circumstances prevent an in-person audition.
Live auditions will occur in front of the appropriate instrumental or vocal faculty. Additional information sessions, current student interactions, music building tours and a noontime luncheon will also be offered.
