Maddy is currently completing a PsyD in Clinical Psychology from Adler University, and is an Ohio University alum with a Bachelor of Arts in psychology. Maddy considers it a privilege to be able to do clinical work with university students from all backgrounds. Rooted in her value for social justice, Maddy aims to serve students who may feel hesitant to receive mental health services for a variety of reasons. Using a multicultural framework, it is her goal to provide services that are responsive to the specific needs of clients and that are informed by the lasted clinical research. Maddy believes collaboration is key in the therapeutic process, along with sensitivity to one’s culture, identities, and unique life experiences. Maddy enjoys working with a variety of clinical concerns and has particular clinical interests in non-traditional therapy approaches, disability advocacy, and social justice. She strives to provide care that is multiculturally competent, honors diversity, and empowers clients to achieve their own goals. Maddy has clinical training in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and mindfulness. She strives to take mental health treatment out of the traditional therapy room folks often think of and transform treatment into what best supports the client. Ultimately, her aim is to provide a safe space where students feel empowered to be their authentic selves in their healing journey.
