Pathways

CC+ Pathways

College Credit Plus Pathways are a set of courses that either total 15 or 30 hours and that can be organized by a major or career path to include various courses required for a degree or professional certification. The Pathways may include courses offered via a mix of modalities (online, on campus, in the secondary school, etc.). CC+ participants are not required to follow any specific Pathway or take the courses listed. They are only provided as an example to assist is the planning of course schedules and future academic pursuits.

Students should always consult with their school counselor prior to registering for college courses to ensure that the appropriate high school requirements will be met.

Dual Enrollment to Regular Student Transitions

Early Degree Seeking Registration

All Athens campus degree-seeking students are required to attend Bobcat Student Orientation prior to their first term of enrollment. At the conclusion of orientation, students work with an academic advisor to build a course schedule. Current and former dual enrollment students who have been admitted as a degree-seeking students are not exempt from the policy. The BSO staff has committed to making available to all students a good and applicable course schedule.

In the rare case that a student has completed a large number of courses and has been admitted into a program where a lack of course availability would pose a challenge to building a good schedule, early registration can be permitted.

Bobcat Student Orientation has the final discretion to waive the requirement for degree seeking students to register at BSO. Students must make the request to their academic advisor and not directly to BSO. University College or the Students Services Office on the applicable regional campus, after reviewing the students DARS and agreeing that waiting until BSO to register for courses would pose a challenge, can make the request to BSO.

Post High School Summer Course Enrollment (ND9954 – Continuing Dual Enrollment)

A plan code has been created to facilitate the enrollment of former Ohio University CC+ students in the summer term following their graduation from high school (Summer Semester, Summer Session I and Summer Session II). This is a non-degree code and does not require a new application for admission. Eligible students can simply

submit an update of program / plan form directly to University College. These plan codes will be deactivated after the conclusion of the summer semester. Students participating under this code are financially responsible to self- pay for campus-based tuition and fees for courses, as this enrollment will not covered by the CC+ program.

ND9954 – Continuing Dual Enrollment

This option is available to any graduating high school student who is either currently enrolled or has previously participated in Ohio University’s CC+ program. Eligibility does not require the student to be active in the program during the spring semester. Examples of eligible students would include a student who enrolled in CC+ the fall of their senior year but not spring or enrolled in CC+ as a sophomore but not a senior. In the case that a student is not currently active, they will need to first submit a re-enrollment form to the Registrar’s Office.

A student who has never participated in the our CC+ program and wishes to take summer courses after high school should follow regular application procedures by submitting a non-degree application. In these cases, enrollment will be limited to the second summer session. This would include students who participated in the CC+ program at another institution and students who were admitted to our CC+ program but never enrolled.

In most cases, non-degree students are not eligible for financial-aid and scholarships. If a student has been admitted to the fall as a regular degree seeking student and wishes to utilize financial aid over the summer, the student should send an email to Undergraduate Admissions requesting a change to their start term.
