Fulbright Scholars in the International Development Studies Program

Sharif A. Wahab

Sharif A. Wahab is a second year Fulbright scholar from Bangladesh. He completed his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Development Studies at the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh.

Before attending the IDS program, he worked as a Research Associate with BRAC University and Development Research Initiative (DRI). Sharif was also involved in the World Bank Dhaka team for curriculum development of management of land acquisition, resettlement and rehabilitation related to infrastructure development course, a first of its kind in Bangladesh.
In 2013 he participated in a regional workshop on resettlement and rehabilitation in Sri Lanka, and the following year assisted with a Nile Basin Initiative (NBI) training course in Uganda.

Sharif chose to attend the IDS program at OU in order to learn and share experiences in a way that enables him to contribute more efficiently in the development of his country and South Asia as a region.

Balkissa Diallo

Balkissa D. Diallo is from Niger. She studied Political Science and History at the University of Legon (Accra- Ghana) for her Bachelor's Degree. She also worked as a civil servant with the Ministry for Planning back in her home country.

She is currently a second year Fulbright student in IDS program, and is concentrating on the Environment. Her hobbies include cooking, reading and travelling

Amal Abdulqader

Amal Abdulqader is from Yemen. She is a second year Fulbright scholar pursuing her second master's degree, this time in International Development Studies with focus in socioeconomic development. She has a bachelor degree in Pharmacy from Yemen and earned an MBA from Audencia School of Management in France, with a focus in the Social Responsibility of Cooperation.

She has 7 years' experience in development field, including working with one of the pioneer local organizations in Yemen (SOUL for Development) as a project manager for variety of projects regarding health, education and women rights. In addition, she worked in the Yemen National Conference as manager for the Community Participation Unit and later as national coordinator for Women and Youth Forum with UNOPS. She has experience working in collaboration with governments, NGOs and business leaders for sustainable development.
