If you have questions or would like more information about the Bobcat Creators program, contact Elise Holbrook, Senior Manager of University Social Media, by sending her an email at eholbrook@ohio.edu.
Bobcat Creators help showcase Ohio University's campus and what it means to be a Bobcat through content on Ohio University’s social media accounts that showcases campus life and culture (primarily TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts).
Creators will provide ideas to Ohio University’s Social Media Team for content to be created (including trend suggestions), appear in content and create content themselves.
Content produced through the Bobcat Creators program diversifies Ohio University’s social media content through a variety of perspectives, backgrounds and content interests, and aids the University in maintaining its standing as one of the top higher education institutions in the country on social media.
The 2025-26 cohort application closed on September 14, 2025 at midnight.
Applications will be reviewed by the end of September. Selected Creators will be contacted by or before mid-October.
If you are not selected for the program upon your first application, you may apply to be reconsidered in future academic years. Spaces in the program are limited.
Before applying, be sure to fully review program eligibility details and expectations.
Currently enrolled, undergraduate students (Athens campus) in any academic year and in any major are eligible to be a Bobcat Creator. Professional content creation experience is NOT required. However, demonstrated content creation skills on your personal social media profiles or through internships/jobs may increase your chances of being selected.
The most ideal candidates for the Bobcat Creators program are social media-savvy students who have a deep understanding of OHIO’s culture, are involved in student life and are deeply passionate about the University. From aspiring influencers to the social media obsessed and internet culture connoisseurs, those who heavily utilize social media and observe trends or those who create content themselves will have the most to contribute to the program.
Bobcat Creators will provide ideas for, and appear in, social media content captured, edited, and posted by the OHIO Social Media Team. Creators will additionally occasionally create content autonomously, including content such as day-in-the-life vlogs, showcasing campus events they attend or other content ideas they have.
Failure to meet these expectations will result in a conversation with OHIO Social Media Team staff to discuss the student’s ability to commit to the program, including potential release from the Bobcat Creators program if expectations cannot be met.
At the end of each academic year, the OHIO Social Media Team will review the performance of the current Bobcat Creators based on their contributions and completion of program expectations and determine who will be offered the opportunity to continue into the next academic year.
