Training

Class of 2018

The Kiplinger Program in Public Affairs Journalism has been training professional journalists for more than 50 years. During the past few year, program staff trained nearly 1,800 journalists worldwide. Kiplinger training has four prongs:

  • The weeklong Kiplinger Fellowships at Ohio University
  • Presentations and workshops at journalism conferences
  • Stand-alone social media summits and other events
  • Customized newsroom training

Global Impact

Whether it's training international journalists on campus or traveling overseas, Kiplinger Program staff are connected around the world.

Conferences & Events

National and regional journalism groups turn to the Kiplinger Program staff to provide compelling presentations and hands-on training at conferences. Typically, Kiplinger Program trainers speak at six to eight conventions each year.

Workshops

One- or two-day Kiplinger Program workshops give journalists a chance to reboot and upgrade their digital skills. Topics include social search, data analysis and visualization, mobile reporting and smartphone videography.

Kiplinger Newsroom Training

From time to time, a newsroom or university will invite us to spend an afternoon, a day, or a few days training their staff on digital and social media. Custom Kiplinger training can help a newsroom or organization ramp up skills quickly at a modest cost.
