Coming August 20, 2020: A new way to navigate Blackboard Learn
OHIO’s Learning Management System (LMS), Blackboard Learn, is core to the online learning experience for many OHIO students. On August 20, we’ll be introducing a new, streamlined landing page in Blackboard Learn that allows students to more easily access important course information, including learning materials, grades, messages, calendars, and relevant links arranged in an Activity feed. The new layout will make Blackboard Learn more accessible for students using mobile devices and provide a simple, consistent experience regardless of how it is accessed.
Over the past year, we received a lot of excellent feedback from our faculty, students, and administrators, whether through our LMS Survey in January, 2020, or through OIT’s Service Desk, consultations, or advisory community. This update to the LMS is one part of a larger framework to support the OHIO community, which includes redesigned help and support resources for Blackboard.
Please note that only Blackboard's home page is changing. Courses, Grades, and other pages inside of your courses will remain and will work the same as before.
Interested in learning more? Please feel free to reach out to the Office of Information Technology at servicedesk@ohio.edu and one of our experts will gladly share more. In addition, Blackboard’s annual user conference is now virtual and free to anyone to attend.
We will continue to provide updates throughout the summer, and closer to our go live date of August 20, 2020.
