eduroam Troubleshooting

Got kicked out of eduroam or having trouble connecting?

Try these first

  • Turn Wi-Fi off and back on

    decorative

It sounds simple because it works.

Disable Wi-Fi for 10 seconds and connect to eduroam.

  • Disable VPNs

    decorative

Some personal VPN apps interfere with authentication and connectivity.

If you use one — NordVPN, Proton VPN and similar — turn it off while you connect.

  • Forget, then rejoin eduroam

    decorative

If your device suddenly stops connecting, forget the network.

On Windows devices, go to Settings > Network & Internet > Wi-Fi > Manage Known Networks. Then, select eduroam and forget.

On Mac devices, go to System Settings > Wi-Fi > Known Networks. Then, select eduroam and forget.

On an iPhone or iPad, go to Settings > Wi-Fi, tap the i next to eduroam, then Forget This Network.

On Android, press and hold the network name and choose Forget.

    Then, reconnect to eduroam

  • Restart your device

    decorative

A restart refreshes: wireless adapters, security credentials and network settings.

It remains one of the most effective troubleshooting steps.
