Alden Library provides virtual resources for students during finals

Students may not have the opportunity to hunker down at Alden Library for this semester’s finals, but OHIO Libraries are still offering virtual ways to help students through their final week.

Listed below are available services and resources provided by the Libraries and campus partners to assist students in making the end of the semester as stress-free as possible.

Academic Resources

Wellness Resources

  • University Libraries has created a guide to help students adjust to remote learning, including information on Online Learning and Staying Mindful while studying at a distance.
  • Bobcat Well-Being from campus recreation includes tips and resources, as well as well-being webinars to help students be well and manage stress.
  • Counseling and Psychological Services offers information on Self-Care, links to Self-Help Apps and Guided Meditations.
  • Need a creative break? Check out a collection of downloadable coloring pages. Print, color, repeat as needed. Students can even share their creations by posting on social media and tagging the Libraries at @AldenLibrary #FinalsByAlden.
  • Students can also take a break from studying and rest their eyes through watching a relaxing ASMR video for their eyes: Space , Art, or Fractal. What is ASMR? A feeling of well-being combined with a tingling sensation in the scalp and down the back of the neck in response to a specific gentle stimulus, often a particular sound.
  • Students can start their day with a 5 minute meditation session.
  • Office Break Yoga: step away from the computer and follow a 14 minute yoga session to stretch out the body.
  • Create a relaxing Desktop Picture using Silk.
  • Students can take a break with animal therapy by following @AldenLibrary on Instagram to meet some of the staff’s furry (and not so furry) friends. Share your pets with OHIO Libraries too by tagging the social media handle or using the tag #FinalsByAlden.
  • BobCat Wellness website offers even more information to help with health, self-care, and connecting with others.
  • The Campus Involvement Center has put together a virtual involvement page with links to games, arts and crafts, and remote events.
