About the Individual Interdisciplinary Program (IIP)
The Individual Interdisciplinary Program represents a broad spectrum of interdisciplinary methods of intellectual inquiry. It provides a means to build upon and expand the numerous instances of interdisciplinary research occurring across campus.
Additional Key Features:
- Integrates expertise from multiple academic disciplines
- Provides opportunities unavailable in single-discipline programs
- Facilitates interdisciplinary grant applications for faculty
- Requires close collaboration with a minimum of three faculty advisors
- Centers on direct interaction between students and their Guidance Committee
Program Value: The IIP's key value lies in offering study opportunities that cannot be achieved through existing discipline-specific degree programs.
