Getting a Job: Global Professional Development event scheduled for Friday, Nov 17

Friday, Oct. 6 Keynote Address and Panel

The Center for International Studies is pleased to announce that it will be hosting its new Professional Development Series, "The Global Professional in Today's World," throughout the academic year.

The aim of this weekly series is to parallel academic programs with professional development seminars, workshops and alumni forums that offer timely and valuable tips and tools for our students to graduate equipped to succeed.

The  series will showcase the value of studying at OHIO and in our CIS program to undergraduate and graduate students investing in a global education. From the CIS perspective, global talent represents the world’s most important natural resource.
In addition to weekly workshops, the Global Professional Development Series will be inviting our alumni who are leading fulfilling and impactful lives to share their pathways to achieving their career and life goals. We want our students to hear, firsthand, the many different paths forward and to see the possibilities, along with the hurdles and implications, of choices made along the way.  We also wish to celebrate our alumni’s achievements.
The Global Professional Development Series inaugural event is scheduled during the annual OHIO Homecoming Weekend from October 6-8, 2017. The event will include a keynote address, reception and a panel discussion with other alumni representing different sectors, regions of the world, and career paths.
The Fall 2017 semester schedule is available here.
Please note that the weekly workshops are run in partnership with the Career and Leadership  Development Center (CLDC). You can find out more about the CLDC here.
