Schools and Departments
Department of Athletic Training
Athletic training is a health-care profession specializing in the clinical diagnosis, immediate management, treatment and rehabilitation of acute, chronic or congenital musculoskeletal conditions.
Department of Exercise Physiology
A graduate degree in Exercise Physiology opens opportunities in research, clinical exercise physiology. An undergraduate degree builds a science base for continuing on to medical schools, athletic training, physical therapy and physician assistant programs.
Department of Food and Nutrition Sciences
The College of Health Sciences and Professions' Department of Food and Nutrition Sciences at Ohio University offers undergraduate, graduate and research opportunities to students.
Department of Hearing, Speech and Language Sciences
The department offers a bachelor of Science in Hearing, Speech and Language Sciences and doctoral degrees in Clinical Audiology, Hearing Science and Speech-Language Science.
Department of Interdisciplinary Health Studies

School of Nursing
The School of Nursing is proud to be the home of some of the fastest growing programs in the college, including an online RN to BSN, online MSN, and online DNP degrees as well as traditional on-campus BSN programs on the Athens and regional campuses.
Department of Physical Therapy
The department offers a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT), with a DPT/PhD option and a Physical Therapy Residency program.
Department of Physician Assistant
The department offers a Master of Physician Assistant Practice at the University’s Dublin Integrated Education Center in Dublin, Ohio.
Department of Social and Public Health
The Department of Social and Public Health is where personal passion meets public good, with programs including Child and Family Studies, Community and Public Health, Environmental Health Science, and Health Services Administration.
Department of Social Work
The Social Work program at Ohio University offers a wide variety of degree programs, including an on-campus bachelor’s degree in social work and on-campus and 100% online versions of its Master of Social Work degree.
