Arts & Sciences Undergraduate Advising & Student Affairs

Our Office of Undergraduate Advising & Student Affairs works with students to discover and work toward their academic, personal and life goals. We work with students to provide information about their program and academic requirements, support available to them for academic needs, and more.

Need to meet with an advisor?

You can talk to an advisor, get your schedule adjusted, and more. Here's how:

  • Drop-In Advising

*Drop-in advising is not available during the summer semester.
    • Wednesdays 9-11 a.m. and 1-4 p.m. (Gordy Hall 155)
    • Thursdays 1-4 p.m. (Gordy Hall 155)
    • BIOLOGICAL STUDENTS ONLY DROP-INS (Irvine 126)
      • Wednesdays 9-11 a.m. and 1-4 p.m.
      • Thursdays 9-11 a.m. and 1-4 p.m.

Drop-in advising is intended for brief, 5-to-15-minute conversations focused on quick questions or time-sensitive concerns.

Drop-in advising is appropriate for the following:

    • Graduation checks
    • Quick advising questions
    • Adding or dropping a single course
    • Minor schedule adjustments
    • Academic or course concerns
    • Referrals to campus resources
    • Guidance on how to apply for graduation
    • Transfer credit questions

Some advice requires more time and cannot be completed during drop-in hours. These situations require a scheduled advising appointment:

    • Creating a full semester schedule
    • Long-term academic planning
    • Major changes with multiple course adjustments
    • Detailed degree audits
    • Petitions, appeals, or complex academic forms
    • 104R planning or review
    • Graduation planning with unresolved requirements
