Grading Policy for Student Workers

Policy adopted May 24, 2022 – CoB Executive Committee

Without the express written consent of a Department Chair or Associate Dean, student workers, both undergraduate and graduate, cannot assign numeric grades to any assignments unless there is a clearly defined key or rubric.  Examples include grading multiple choice quizzes, grammar checking, adherence to style, etc.  Requesting student workers to arbitrarily assess the quality of an assignment is impermissible.

Student workers can provide feedback on written assignments; however, a score for the assignment must be assigned by a faculty member.

No student worker is permitted to be listed as an administrator on Blackboard.

Student workers cannot be responsible for developing assessment measures.

Graduate student workers are not permitted to assess any work done by other graduate students unless it is in the context of a peer review.
