Biography
Shawnee Meek teaches strategic business communication, organizational behavior, human resources management, and leadership. She is a SHRM (Society of Human Resources Management) certified professional. She provides positive workplace culture, leadership, communication, and executive presence training for both national and international partners and organizations such as Sogeti, LAIOB, Global Cooling, and GallopNYC.
Shawnee has a zest for developing others and for the betterment of communities in which she serves. Her dedication and enthusiasm for student success is rooted in positive psychology. She applies positive psychology interventions, learned at the Appreciative Advising Institute, in the classroom, coaching student teams, leading students, and working in faculty teams. Shawnee supports student success outside the classroom through aiding in student led campaigns for foundations. Her most memorable contributions included teaching in a Cookie Monster costume, participating in the MSA sponsored mud run, and co-leading the #LoveAthensKeepItLocal CoB Instagram Campaign.
In her free time, you can find Shawnee on an adventure. Some of her favorite adventures include experiencing the performing arts, reading fiction and happiness books, biking, ziplining, rock climbing, dancing, Zumba-ing, traveling, hiking in her woods, Sedona and Phoenix, the Appalachian Trail, and the Great Wall of China.
