Zanesville Cares: Supporting Students' Mental Health & Well-Being

A logo line drawing of a Rufus the Bobcat head with the words Ohio University Zanesville Cares inside of it.

College can be challenging — especially for first-generation students, who make up a large portion of OHIO Zanesville's student body. Balancing academics, social life, and work can take a toll, and accessing mental health care in Southeastern Ohio can be difficult due to limited services and long wait times.

Zanesville Cares is an initiative at OHIO Zanesville that bridges the gap by providing accessible, stigma-free support, fostering open conversations, and ensuring students get the help they need to succeed.

Zanesville Cares Mission

Zanesville Cares is committed to:

  • Expanding mental health resources for students
  • Reducing stigma around seeking help
  • Creating a supportive and inclusive campus environment
  • Connecting students with professional counseling and crisis support

Zanesville Cares Partners

We are proud to collaborate with:

  • AllWell Behavioral Health Services – providing current Zanesville campus students with mental health counseling, either on campus or in one of their locations throughout southeast Ohio as well as on-campus mental health educational sessions

Get Emergency Support

An emergency is a life-threatening situation where immediate response from medics or law enforcement is needed. Examples may include someone actively trying to harm themselves or others, self-injury requiring medical attention, hearing voices or experiencing hallucinations, or apparent drug overdose.

If you or someone you know is an imminent danger to themselves or someone else, go to the nearest emergency room or call 911.
