Meet the McClure's MITS Grad Students starting Fall 2022

The McClure School, welcomes its 2022 cohort of graduate students to our School, the Scripps College and the Athens community. We are thrilled to have five new incoming students that have diverse academic backgrounds. We are sure our new students will succeed in their studies here and will continue contributing to their professional fields.

Ebenezer Osei Kwakye

Ebenezer is a telecommunications engineer with a multitude of experiences in ITS. In 2018 Ebenezer graduated from Ghana Communication Technology University with a BSC in telecommunication engineering. He was the welfare chairman for GCTU’s Students Representative Council from 2017 to 2018 and completed a Fiber Optics certificate in 2017. The summer after finishing his certificate, Ebenezer started an internship at Swap Tech and Telecoms in Accra, Ghana. This led him to his first job at Hua Wei Technologies as a Fiber Optics Engineer and Supervisor where he managed, analyzed and reported on MTN and Vodafone — Africa’s largest mobile network operators Fiber-optics Core Statuses and availability report and Preventive/Corrective Maintenance reports. Ebenezer's skills include basic C++ programming language, fiber optics maintenance and installation , fiber optics project management and supervision, Warehouse Management and On Board Diagnostics tracking systems.

Adewa Adeola Adewumi

Originally from Ekiti, Nigeria, Adeola moved to study applied physics (electronics) at the University of Lagos. In 2009, Adeola worked at Oceanic Bank International as a Network Administrator in the IT department, supporting over 400 branches and configuring routers and switches while implementing VSAT, Radio, DSL, and fiber connections. Adeola had multiple field transmission engineer positions at companies such as Alcatel-Lucent Nigeria Limited, Hua Wei Technologies, and Etisalat. The same can be said for his roles as a technical support engineer at Alcatel-Lucent South Africa, Nokia Networks, and Vodacom South Africa. He has experience as a customer technical advocate, integration engineer and technical support engineer. He currently works at Airtel Nigeria as a technical project manager. Adeola prides himself on his international experience, adaptability, flexibility and self-motivation.

Tordzro Richard Yaw

In 2009, Ricky received a BSC in computer engineering from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, and two years later got an advanced diploma in network administration from Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration. During his time at KNU, Ricky interned at Socio Economic Development Centre as a computer technician. In 2011, Ricky began his long-term career at Huawei Technologies South Africa an access network engineer at Huawei. At Huawei, he has worked as a network engineer team lead, a senior network engineer as the IP team lead, and for the past two years a solution engineer. Ricky is an innovative, focused and responsible team player who maintains a duty to communicate effectively in any position he enters.

Orajiaka Emmanuel

Emmanuel received a Bachelor of Engineering in electronics and computer engineering in 2013 from Nnamdi Azikiwe University. For two years, Emmanuel interned at Oxygen Broadband Networks where he troubleshot local and wide area networks and configured Cisco routers and switches as well as installed access points. After his internship in Lagos, Emmanuel moved to Benin to work at Benin Electricity Distribution Company as a network/field service engineer, where he utilized and enhanced tools from his internship. Emmanuel is now a network engineer and project coordinator at Etisalat Telecoms (Helios Towers). He is skilled in network security, design, performance and monitoring, Python, Matlab, Java and SQL server.

Xornam Deh

Xornam attended BlueCrest University College and Ghana Institue of Management and Public Administration. At BlueCrest, Xornam received his BSC in Information Technology and at GIMPA, he received his Master of Science degree in Information and Communication Technology. Before university, Xornam also received a certificate in network engineering from Nust Institute of Information Technology. In 2008, Xornam worked at Africa & Superlock Technologies Limited as a Software Testing Officer and IT trainer for a year before starting as an IT administrator at Accra Grammar School for three years. In 2015, Xornam became a National Service Personnel in the ICT department at Ghana Civil Aviation Authority.  A year later he started at the Secure Pensions Trust Limited as an IT officer and systems administrator. Currently, Xornam is a senior associate and OSTS IT lead at Ernst & Young Advisory Service and has been at the company for five years. Xornam also has experience in IT training and instructing, data analysis and logistics.
