Student Response System Evaluation Project

Background

A student response system refers to an instant method of gathering student feedback in the classroom. These systems permit faculty to immediately receive answers, comments, or opinions on various discussions or course content. Faculty can easily interact with students, even within large lecture rooms or online discussions. Student response systems offer digital polls, surveys, or questionnaires for students to participate in unidentifiably. Approximately 200 professors and 11,400 students across 405 courses at Ohio University are utilizing the current student response platform. This includes both Top Hat's attendance feature and student response needs. It is the goal for the Student Response System to support the University's Teaching and Learning practices; implementation needs to happen prior to the opening of Fall 2023 (August 2023).
