Student Response System & Attendance Tracking Evaluation Project

Project background

OIT is launching two simultaneous requests for proposals (RFP) to evaluate the markets for (1) student response systems and (2) attendance tracking tools in order to select technologies that align with the University's needs. OIT is engaging students, faculty, and staff to clarify how they use Top Hat and other technologies in order to meet their needs and wants. These insights will inform the two RFP processes, which will culminate in the selection of a tool or tools that will best suit the University community.

Feedback requested by Friday, February 17

To provide feedback, please complete the Student Response System Evaluation Survey by Friday, February 17. Students and instructors are invited to provide feedback on Top Hat and similar tools they have previously used.

Top Hat is the current enterprise student response system, which allows instructors to create interactive class presentations, engage students through live polls using a mobile app, and create custom content through online textbooks and other e-learning materials. Top Hat can also be used for attendance tracking, especially in larger lecture classes.

The survey feedback will be used to identify the most common uses and key features of these tools.
