Purpose

The Office of Information Technology's purpose is to enhance student success and inclusion by infusing digital capabilities and student-centric approaches into every aspect of teaching, learning, and working at Ohio University.

Guiding Principles

  1. Invest in the people, processes, and culture necessary to deliver a distinctive student experience. Information & Technology will enable transformation, but not define it.
  2. Embrace agility. Seek progress over perfection. Accept failure and intentional acceptance of risk as normal and necessary. Seize opportunities through rapid, small shifts in tactics.
  3. Make Information & Technology accessible. Adopt processes, practices, and ideologies that empower the University community to leverage technology and institutional data effectively.
  4. Focus on outcomes, not outputs. Outcomes are the differences created because of our work - an employee paid on time, a prospective student matriculated, or a degree or certificate awarded.

Themes: Fiscal Year 2024

  • Make the OHIO experience central to how we demonstrate value.
  • Get better at using data to make smart decisions.
  • Inspire a sense of purpose and belonging for every OHIO IT team member.
