Device Support

Students provide hands-on hardware repair for PCs and Macs. Responsibilities include replacing computer parts, diagnosing complicated hardware and software issues, and completing service tickets. Student employees have the opportunity to become Apple certified in this role. Work shifts are Monday-Friday only. Must be available over University closures. 

Location

This position is currently on-campus and located in Grosvenor Hall room 138. 

IT Service Desk - Bobcat Depot 

Students provide in-person support for software and hardware issues at our service desk located inside Bobcat Depot. This is a customer-facing position that primarily involves troubleshooting for personal computers and completing service tickets. Student employees must also be knowledgeable about computers—specifically hardware, software, and general computer topics—and be willing to follow established procedures. Work shifts are during university hours and may also occur during evenings and weekends. 

Location

This position is currently on-campus and located in the 1st floor of Baker Center in the back of the Bobcat Depot. Bobcat Depot IT Service Desk hours follow the Bobcat Depot Store hours.

Learning Spaces & Classroom Support

Students in this position work under the supervision of full-time technical staff. A Learning Spaces Technician assists with classroom technology, maintenance, and repair. Other duties may include completing service tickets; installing new computers, projectors, or other audio/visual equipment; and interacting with Ohio University’s diverse staff, faculty, and student population. Note: Valid driver's license is required for this position.

Location

On-site work. This position is currently on-campus and based in Grosvenor Hall room 138. 

Ohio University Learning Network (OULN) Service Desk and Classroom Support

Student employees provide in-person and remote support for professors. Assist faculty and staff in holding classes virtually, while in person and broadcasting to regional campuses when needed. Provide support with Microsoft Teams during lecture times. Other duties may include completing service tickets, operating cameras within the classroom setting, troubleshooting device support, and interacting with Ohio University's diverse staff and faculty population.  

Location

Hybrid. Support both on-site work and some remote assistance. On-site support in Irvine, Tupper, and Baker Center spaces.

Testing Services

Testing Services Student Employment

In an effort to ensure academic integrity is preserved, graduate students are responsible for overseeing undergraduate students while they take required exams. A testing services graduate employee will be proctoring online and assisting accommodated student testing. As a requirement of the position, all student testing employees will be trained by our full-time staff and also become certified with Prometric before being able to enter the testing center to proctor exams. Work hours are typically Monday-Friday, but occasional Saturdays may be required. Work is available over University observed closures and/or breaks. Please note: This is a Graduate Assistant position only.

This position is currently on-campus and located at Bromley Hall. Enter through the doors on West Union Street.

IT Warehouse

Student employees learn how to organize and maintain inventory within an asset management system. Employees will also update and complete tickets in the work order system, as well as deliver, ship, and receive packages and mail. Students will have the opportunity to work with vendors and new staff to assist in providing guest access, assembling office equipment, and working with other departments to ensure a smooth transition to campus. Occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs. is expected with this role. Work shifts are available Monday-Friday in addition to evenings and some University closures.
