Digital Accessibility Network
The OHIO Digital Accessibility Network (OHIO-DAN) is a University-wide group of staff, faculty, students and leaders learning and working together to make digital tools and content more accessible for people with disabilities.
Why Join the OHIO DAN?
As an OHIO DAN member, you'll gain awareness within the Ohio University community to the complex challenges of inaccessible websites, web applications and documents. Additionally, you'll learn about tools, workflows and best practices to make digital tools and content more accessible for people with disabilities.
Join the OHIO DAN today and participate in our quarterly Teams meeting on the last Thursday of the month at 4:00 P.M. eastern time. By joining the OHIO-DAN, you'll have access to our Teams channel where we post weekly tips, digital accessibility news and learning opportunities. It's also a great place for you to share insights and ask questions.
The Accessibility Habit
A big part of making accessibility part of our everyday work is turning the 7-Core Skills of Digital Accessibility into habits. The OHIO DAN focused on this idea and we keep it as a cornerstone of progress. We call it 'The Accessibility Habit,' and it was inspired by the habit building concept from James Clear’s book "Atomic Habits".
By building simple, effective habits, we can create more inclusive digital spaces. We encourage participants to read or explore a summary of Atomic Habits to see how small, consistent changes can lead to meaningful progress.
