Research and Instructional Support Services
Supporting excellence in research and instruction is a core operation of the University Libraries. We do this for researchers by providing them with access to rich collections owned locally and across the world, by building services and infrastructures to improve your efficiency and impact as a researcher, and by supporting developing and evolving areas of scholarly communication. We do this for educators by providing support in the following areas: affordable education resources, content purchasing and access, the development and curation of instructional and learning materials, the execution of programming focused on information literacy concepts, and digital humanities pedagogy.

Affordable Course Materials & OER – The Libraries support efforts to reduce the costs of course materials for our students. Learn about the variety of strategies offered in support of instructors’ needs for course materials that both meet their learning objects and are affordable for students.
Canvas Services – Learn more about integrating library materials and instruction into Canvas or other online platforms.
Citation Management – Learn more about resources available for all major citation styles. Also discover all the benefits of Zotero, a citation management tool with unlimited storage space, as well as guidance and support for its use.
Content Purchasing & Access – Learn more about the ways you can gain access to collections and research materials from across the world, as well as help us build and leverage Ohio University Libraries’ research collections.

Data Management – The Libraries supports data discovery, cleaning, management, archiving, teaching, Data Management plan design (via DMPTool), and navigation of university-wide data compliance resources.

Open Access Article Fees – Libraries' memberships offer coverage of some open access article fees or APCs.
