Faculty-Led Program Proposal Process

The Office of Global Opportunities (OGO) works collaboratively with colleges to develop and support Ohio University's portfolio of faculty-led study abroad and study away programs. Program proposals are reviewed through a transparent and consistent process that considers student needs, academic priorities, experiential learning opportunities, and operational requirements.

The proposal process helps colleges and OGO identify programs that best support student success while maintaining a sustainable, high-quality portfolio of global learning opportunities.

This year’s calls for proposals are for programs intended to operate during Academic Years 2027–28 and 2028–29.

Questions and Proposal Development Support

Faculty interested in proposing a program are encouraged to contact OGO early in the development process.

OGO can assist with discussing program ideas, reviewing potential program models, identifying logistical considerations, and providing examples of previous proposals.
