Hillary Gattian
Student Success Advisor
Hillary Gattian is an interdisciplinary artist and educator from Ventura, California. She earned her BFA in Painting from Sonoma State University (2015) and her MFA in Painting + Drawing from Ohio University (2018). Her work spans painting, drawing, ceramics, and site-specific installation, exploring the intersections of built and natural environments, memory, and change.
She has taught painting, drawing, foundations, 2D Design, and Color Theory at Ohio University and Old Dominion University, and teaches ceramics, mixed media, and fiber art at the Dairy Barn Arts Center. Rooted in place, her work engages coastal histories in Virginia and Appalachian landscapes in Ohio, while examining the impact of digital culture on lived experience. She currently serves as Executive Director of Majestic Galleries, an artist-run nonprofit in Nelsonville, Ohio, and is pursuing an MBA in Business Venturing & Entrepreneurship at Ohio University (2026).
