Hattie Phillips

Success Advisor • Retention & Graduation Initiatives

Hattie has a history of working in classrooms, galleries, museums, and nonprofit organizations. She earned her Master of Fine Arts in Printmaking with a Visual Arts Management Certificate from Ohio University in 2022, followed by a Master of Arts in Arts Administration with a Museum Studies Certification in 2024, and is currently completing a Master of Arts in Art History. A first-generation college graduate, Hattie has built her career around connecting people with art and learning in ways that are accessible, collaborative, and meaningful.

Her artwork explores memory, narrative, and the ways time is experienced through fragmented and overlapping moments. Using print, photography, and mixed-media processes, she examines nuance within memory, archives, and lived experience, often exploring how memory shapes—and is shaped by—the present. Her work has been exhibited, published, and collected nationally and internationally. Phillips teaches courses, leads workshops, volunteers, and consults within her community, using creativity as a tool for connection and exploration.
