Hi! I’m Michael, a senior at Ohio University, from Crestview Hills, Kentucky. Growing up with an architect for a dad, I was always fascinated by the world of design. Watching him create structures sparked my own passion, leading me to pursue Interior Architecture. What excites me most about this field is the opportunity to design spaces that blend aesthetics with function, making a positive impact on how people live. I’m particularly drawn to the process of selecting furniture and materials that bring spaces to life, creating environments that are both beautiful and purposeful. For me, Interior Architecture is about designing spaces that people feel connected to.

My thesis focuses on creating a facility for youth aging out of foster care, blending trauma-informed design, biophilic elements, and extended foster care principles. This topic matters to me because I’m passionate about designing spaces that offer healing, security, and support, helping young adults transition to independence with confidence.
