Seasons
Ohio University looks good in every season, and it’s hard to pick a favorite.
The summer brings sunshine and blue skies, which is great weather for picnics on College Green. Fall leaves paint campus with rich colors, which pairs well with hammocking in Emeriti Park. Spring comes with pink, fragrant cherry blossoms that decorate the Hockhocking Adena Bikeway. In the winter, cozy, chilly snow brings sled rides and snowball fights to life.

Campus Events
It’s hard to be bored at Ohio University. Whether you prefer to fly solo or hang with a group of friends, there is always something going on. Campus events are a great way to meet other Bobcats and try new things.
Homecoming activities and Family Weekends are long-standing OHIO traditions—staples of life on campus that bring people from all over the country to Athens. Craft and game nights create a nice break from academics. Memorial Auditorium and Baker Center host live entertainment like concerts, comedians, drag shows and more.

Living in a residence hall provides a unique living experience that emphasizes community. You’ll dive into college living alongside your peers, learning how to live on your own while leaning on others experiencing a similar journey.
Residence Hall Advisors (RAs) live alongside students in the halls as a support system, resource and friend while living on campus.
Residence halls are close to dining facilities, markets and academic buildings, and you’re never far from the heart of campus.

Arts Scene
The creative and unique arts scene at OHIO and in the Athens community allows Bobcats to unleash their creativity and discover what art means to them.

In Athens, a popular phrase heard is, “Want to head Uptown?”
Uptown is Ohio University’s “downtown.” It connects campus to the local Athens community with its lively and quaint atmosphere and diverse selection of local businesses. Students have many options for shopping and eating local. Head uptown to grab an early morning meal or late-night bite, or expand your OHIO wardrobe by checking out all the shops.

The beauty of Appalachia surrounds Ohio University’s campus, offering an escape from the hustle and bustle of college life and an engaging way to stay active.
Explore hiking spots like The Ridges. Take a break from campus and adventure at Strouds Run State Park, only ten minutes away from campus. Enjoy the campus wildlife (from a distance).
The Hocking River borders campus along with the Hockhocking Adena Bikeway, the best spot for walking, biking and running, especially when the cherry blossoms bloom in the spring. The path features vast forests and colorful sunsets that will take your breath away.
